HORST DO CAPARAÓ: INFLUÊNCIAS MORFOESTRUTURAIS E MORFOTECTÔNICAS NA DINÂMICA E EVOLUÇÃO DO RELEVO / HORST CAPARAÓ: MORPHOSTRUCTURAL AND MORPHOTECTONIC INFLUENCES IN THE DYNAMICS AND RELIEF EVOLUTION

Resumo

A Serra do Caparaó figura como um proeminente alinhamento estrutural no sentido N-S e, juntamente à Serra do Brigadeiro a oeste, constitui um sistema de horsts limitados pelo gráben dissecado pelo rio Carangola e pela rede de drenagem que coleta. O presente trabalho se encarregou de investigar os efeitos diastróficos neotectônicos vigentes no maciço do Caparaó e região, acionando procedimentos de análise estrutural associados a técnicas de detecção de tectônica ativa, pautada fundamentalmente na interpretação do relevo e da drenagem, procedimentos de grande valia para os estudos neotectônicos em domínios de margem passiva. Os procedimentos metodológicos aplicados na presente investigação foram capazes de identificar uma série de feições morfotectônicas, tanto no relevo como na rede de drenagem, sobrepostas a controles estruturais preexistentes, revelando que a dinâmica neotectônica intraplaca vem afetando, entre outros contextos, regiões geomorfológicas de gênese tectônica do Brasil Sudeste, reafeiçoando as vertentes, interferindo na hierarquização da rede hidrográfica e influenciando na organização erosiva superficial.

Abstract:

Caparaó ridge figure as a proeminent structural aligniment in the N-S way and together with Brigadeiro ridge in the west contitutes a system of horsts limitated by the graben dissecated by the Carangola river and by the colecting drainage network. The present work took charge on investigating the neotectonic diastrophic effects present in the Caparaó massive and region operating procedures of structural analisys to tecnics of active tectonic detection guided fundamentaly by the interpretation of the relief and of the drainage, procedures of great value for the neotectonic studies in passive border domains. The methodological procedures applied in the present investigation were capable to identify a series of morphotectonic features both in the relief in the drainage network superimposed to preexisting structural controls revealing that the intraplate neotectonic dynamics has been affecting, between other contexts, geomorphological regions of tectonic genesis in the Southeast Brazil reshaping the slope interfering in the tiering of the hydrographic network and influencing the superficial erosive organization.
