Resumo

Resumo: A obra em análise é, ainda hoje, referência primordial no que tange o estudo de grupos caçadores–coletores–pescadores cerriteiros na costa do Rio Grande do Sul e regiões adjacentes, e sua reedição é parte integrante do segundo volume da série “Clássicos da Arqueologia”, promovida pela Sociedade de Arqueologia Brasileira (SAB) e lançado durante a realização do XVI congresso da SAB em conjunto com o XVI congresso Mundial da UISPP, em Florianópolis/SC. Cabe também salientar que esta obra se trata de uma versão condensada da tese apresentada pelo autor em 1976 para obtenção do título de Livre-docente na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul – PUC/RS.

Abstract: The work under analysis is still a primary reference for the study of hunter-gatherer-fishermen groups in the coast of Rio Grande do Sul and adjacent regions, and its reprint is an integral part of the second volume of the series "Classics of Archeology "Promoted by the Brazilian Archeology Society (SAB) and launched during the XVI SAB congress in conjunction with the XVI UISPP World Congress in Florianópolis / SC. It should also be noted that this work is a condensed version of the thesis presented by the author in 1976 to obtain the title of Livre-docente at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul - PUC / RS.
