A DISSOLUÇÃO DA PAISAGEM: IMAGEM, ESPAÇO E ATMOSFERA NA VÍDEO-INSTALAÇÃO

Resumo

O presente artigo trata da dissolução da paisagem como representação para a condição de lugar e atmosfera no contexto da vídeo-instalação. Parte da pintura de paisagens clássica e romântica até a abstração em Turner, chegando ao ambiente moderno do cinema, da Land art e das instalações. Articulando essas referências, aplica conceitos de Walter Benjamin e Gilles Deleuze a respeito da narrativa cinematográfica, tendo como fundo as noções de duração, intensidade, tempo e espaço em Bergson.

THE DISSOLUTION OF LANDSCAPE: IMAGE, SPACE AND ATMOSPHERE IN VIDEO INSTALLATION

 Abstract: This paper deals with the dissolution of landscape as a representation for atmosphere and place in video installation. Initially, we review Classical and Romantic landscape up to J.M.W. Turner’s abstractions, followed by a discussion of landscape in its modern contexts in cinema, Land art and installation. While reflecting on these references and considering narrative cinematography, we call upon concepts in Walter Benjamin and Gilles Deleuze, basing our reflection on the notions of duration, intensity, time and space in Henri Bergson.
